Prof. In 1995, Cem Ali Gizir received a bachelor’s degree in Psychological Counseling and Guidance from the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the Middle East Technical University of Turkey, a master’s degree in 1998, and a doctorate in 2004. Between 1997 and 2006, he worked as an expert psychological consultant at the METU Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center.
Since May 2006, he has been working as a teacher in the Department of Educational Sciences at Mersin University (MEU) in the field of Management and Psychological Counseling. He has served as director of the MEU Center for Psychological Counseling and Guidance, the MEU Center for Student Development, and the MEU Center for Teaching and Learning Development, in addition to teaching various subjects at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
He conducts various studies for university students within the framework of developing the roles and functions of university psychological service centers. In addition, he participates in pre- and post-extreme research on crisis, psychological trauma, grief, and psychological resilience and provides training on these topics at various institutions.
